Greetings and much dusty love from the Dark Skies Fire Arts Festival!

Currently we are waiting on the cost recovery numbers from the BLM and costs from Lincoln County on top of those. Once we have all of that we will be able to produce a working budget and price the tickets logically (who knew?).

We will then announce the start of ticket sales. The tickets are printed and boy are they purty! It’s been somewhat quiet around here at DS HQ the past few months but rest assured that the hamsters are working overtime on this year’s event. We have much to announce, we have much to discuss, we have many needs from you the community as well. This is just a short note to let you know that the dates and location have been set.
June 19-22, 2008 and yes it will be on Delamar Lake in Lincoln County.
Much more coming soon, BOOM!

I know it's further for some of our regional friends and out of town participants. But what an incredible area, lake bed, nature, location and possibly for future events along with being a very private (No Interstate or Casinos) beautiful lush green area for us to play in, preserve, steward and improve.

100 Miles from Las Vegas just southeast of the town of Alamo, NV. North I-93 from Las Vegas is an excellent straight smooth and easy 2 lane back top highway all the way to the turn-off to Delamar Dry Lake. The gravel road off I-93 is very smooth wide and well maintained going through rolling buffs and small lush valley's to the lake bed. The lake has an island and is surrounded by rolling hills and big sky for nightly fires and star gazing.

The area around Alamo is a very wet and lush desert oasis, with 2 hot springs north of town. And than there is the Ghost Town. Ohhhhhh!

Welcome Home: Nothing being perfect. Dark Skies needs a home. As a community and event I hope we will strive to overcome all obstacles leaving no one behind, while making Art as we raise our city, hug and share and leave no trace before hitting the ET highway or back down I-93.

Maybe we need an overnight stop in Vegas for our out of town friends. I’m sure there will be a few gatherings in Las Vegas before the opening of Dark Skies next June.

      X’s, Beach
